A Christmas Celebration!

“Hold your paw right there,” Anna said to her father.

Farloft placed one large green paw on the paper to hold it in place while Anna wrapped the ribbon around the package. It was handy having a shape-shifting-dragon for a daughter. Her human hands were made for this type of work, unlike his huge paws.

The two of them were quickly wrapping presents while everyone else was off picking up the company. Clearair’s first stop was to pick up Theresa, the healer and Farloft’s best friend. Then they would continue to the castle to pick up Sarah, Theresa’s niece and the sorcerous in the kingdom.

James had left to pick up Adrian, the bard.

They were all going to celebrate Christmas in the dragon family’s lair where there was enough room for all.

Meet My Friend Darris

Darris or @dwdraakken did me the honor of commissioning this piece from Kitsooki of
Theresa, me and him together.

Isn't it grand?

Marvelous Fanart Gif

This is the cutest FanArt I have ever received.

A Christmas Story!

A friend of Theresa, my scribe, asked her if she would like to join in on writing a Christmas Story. Alexia said, she and several of her author friends, were going to pen a story together.

Theresa suggested that all the authors bring their muses along. I was pleased to be invited with Theresa's Spacemen, Jake and Arr (and their pal, Kay-o) and Cody the wolf-boy.

I hope you enjoy the story. Alexia, Theresa, and their friends, had fun writing it.

The fall leaves crunched beneath her feet as Erica made her way down the long driveway to her mailbox. The slightly crisp air held a promise of joy and hope for the coming holidays. But inside, Erica felt anything but joyful.

The Pack Rat Mage

This is another one of the folks who won in the raffle I posted for a story with me. Bob wanted to see what would happen if Farloft's hoard disappeared and Clearair was left to guard the remainder as Farloft went off to search for the missing pieces. He had no idea how it would play out once my scribe got hold of the idea. *grins*

The Pack Rat Mage

“Have you seen that pearl necklace I received from Queen Sophia?” Farloft asked, as he came into the main part of the cave.

Clearair waded out of the thermal pool in their lair. “It was in the top of the silver caldron with the other jewels in your hoard last time I saw it.”

Farloft sat down on his haunches and gazed lovingly at his beautiful blue dragoness. “You always shine so when you are wet from the pool.” He shook his head. He needed to keep his mind on the task at hand, not his lovely mate. “Have the younglings been playing in the hoard again?”

“No,” Clearair responded with a frown. She sat down close to one of the volcanic cones and placed her paws above it to dry from the heat off the lava far below. “And, you shouldn’t blame our offspring for your misplacing something from your hoard.” She clicked her tongue at him accusingly.

Storm Warning!

This is the second winner of the Raffle to have my scribe write a story with one of his friends in a starring role. Storm Gryphon wanted something magical and to show that gryphons have a 'silly' side. I think they are a bit 'cheeky' too. *grins toothily*

Storm Warning!

Farloft lay on the rock shelf above the entrance to his cave. His belly was turned up toward the sky and his eyes were mere slits as he basked in the mid-day sun.

“Ah…hum…” someone said, disturbing the dragon’s peaceful snooze.

Farloft didn’t have to look to know who had flown in on silent wings and landed below at the entrance to his cave. It would be Storm Gryphon. He was the only one who could get past Farloft’s exceptional hearing. His silent and stealthy ways were the reason the king employed him as scout and sometimes spy for the kingdom.

“What do you want, Bird?” Farloft growled. He did not take well to his nap being interrupted.

“Your attention, or I would not have come, Lazy Old Lizard,” the gryphon said testily.

The First Winner of... The Sweet Deal!

Haristaan by Kitsooki of Deviant Art

My friend, Haristaan, entered my raffle to have a story written by my scribe Theresa.
He made the suggestion that the two of us might rescue another dragon in his story.
Theresa took the suggestion and using her writing talents, she ran with it.

"The Encounter"

Farloft and Haristaan had been traveling together for several weeks. The old dragon enjoyed the company of the younger black. Haristaan was quick witted, charming and best of all he was a good listener. The younger dragon seemed to absorb Farloft’s stories like a sponge. He never tired of the old one’s tales of times long gone by.

Clearair, Clears the Air - Her 1st Interview

Many of my friends on Twitter have asked about my mate, Clearair. They have expressed a desire to speak with her, to have her join me on a Farloft Friday, but that is just not going to happen. *shakes wedged head from side-to-side*

I was blessed when my love found me, but she is not a social creature. Her history makes her leery of humans until they prove to her they are worth her time. She is distant with other dragons as well.

However, so many of you have asked, that my friend Bob Miller, suggested I might ask Clearair a few questions and Theresa, my scribe, could jot them down for you.

The following are the things Bob from Twitter was interested in. If you have other questions, perhaps you could ask me on Twitter the last Friday of the month and I could relay them to my mate for her reply.

*cozies up with mate among the soft things in their nest. Clears throat and lays out notes from Bob*

Farloft the Dragon Reviews - "Pete's Dragon"

I had the pleasure of seeing Pete's Dragon today!
*grins toothily*

Theresa, my scribe and friend, knows the manager of the local theater and he gave her a discount on twenty tickets so I could wedge myself into the back row. I made it through the double outside emergency doors. Luckily the back row has extra leg room for humans. When I tucked my legs under the seats further down, I just fit.

Pete's Dragon, Elliot and The Dragon Who Tweets, Farloft

Farloft the Dragon friend, Elliot, has had a Hollywood Make-over for the new version of his movie, 'Pete's Dragon.' Here is his before & after photos. From a scaly to a fluffy dragon, what's with that? Did they think he would look more wolf-like for the woods instead of his original location in a Maine fishing village?

I must admit his profile is a lot more intelligent with this new look and loosing the 'pink' was an improvement. But frankly, I wish he had called Farloft or me for a few more tips about Pacific NW dragons. I mean, Farloft is a Native Pacific NW dragon. Casting Elliot is like casting a Californian with a cool tan to play an Indian.

The folks at Pixar/Disney should have a look at The Dragon Who Tweets.

This is first book in the Farloft Chronicles and a great introduction to the series I have to say. My First Official Character Interview

I have done interviews with Theresa, my scribe, before. You have perhaps read them here on my blog, but I have never had the stage fully to myself before. *grins and ruffles wings in excitement*

Lexi Miles, a friend of Theresa's asked me for an Interview. *golden eyes whirl*

I was delighted to say the least. She didn't even get after me for doing my happy dance, even though I broke one of her potted plants in the process. (I am sure Theresa will buy her a nice new one.)

Anyway, here is the interview, the next from me, The Dragon Who Tweets!

The Justice Dragon- Defender of the Innocent!

I would like to introduce you to a new acquaintance, but I haven't really met him yet, I have just met his human friend, WR (Bob) Miller. *drapes wing over Bob's shoulders*

The Justice Dragon, or JD to his friends, is protected by his Nogginor armor. *whirling golden eyes spy helmet* I made the suggestion that I might be able to try on his helmet. He looks so handsome in it. I have never had armor. However, I was unaware that this helmet is part of his means to fight evil and defend humans.

Here is his creed off his FB page:

"Greetings, my friends. I am the Justice Dragon. It is my honor, and my pleasure, to protect you from the unsavory villains usually called Monsters. Have you not been menaced by one lately? Then you know I have done my duty.

Thankfully, many that remain in your world sleep in the winter, as I do. If an emergency arises, I will wake to eliminate the danger.

Now spring has arrived. I have awakened from slumber, fully refreshed and ready to engage the unnatural threats to our world.

If, in the meantime, you have any questions to ask of me, feel free to ask. My scribe will relay my answers, as my claws are too cumbersome to type on dainty little keyboards.

As always I bid you good day.

Vade cum Deo."

I apologize to JD for inadvertently suggesting an impediment to his defense of the innocents in this world, by his loaning me his helmet for a bit. *ruffles wings in agitation*

I have done my fair share of fighting and I am happy to leave it to the younger dragon generation, of which, I have no doubt, JD is fully capable of doing.

I hope he will consider me his friend and I hope all of you will check in on his developing battle against the monsters of your world.

Meet the Dragon Who Tweets!

I have a new buddy and his name is Bob! *drapes wing over human's shoulder* Bob is a writer and illustrator with over 30 years in the business. *tilts wedged head and stares into Bob's eyes, whispers* Funny, you don't look that old. I think you might have a bit of dragon blood.

He also has a dragon friend, Justice Dragon, or JD to his friends, who I want to get to know better.

*ruffles wings* Anyway, Bob was nice enough to write a cool article about me and my Fun Days Tweeting on the last Friday of each Month on Theresa's account @TheresaSnyder19

Have a read of my new friend's article "Meet the Dragon Who Tweets," and next month drop by Twitter and take "Talking to a Dragon" off your Bucket List!

Farloft the Dragon - Movie Star!

Greeting My Friends,

Theresa thinks I should be a Movie Star! *grins in anticipation*

She recently went to the movies. She does this quite often, but this time something struck her as she sat there... Not something physical, mind you, but more of an epiphany.

You see, one of the movie trailers was for a remake of "Pete's Dragon." Theresa saw the original version back in 1977 and this didn't look a bit like the old one. That made her take a second look.

They had moved Elliot's (Pete's dragon) story from Maine to the Pacific Northwest. Heck, she said to herself, Farloft is already here. He could have been in the movie.

To make a long story short, she came home and asked me if I would like to be a "Movie Star."

Well... She didn't have to ask me twice. *ruffles wings and sticks out chest with pride*

What do you think? How about another Dragon Movie! Can there be too many dragons???

Fly, do not walk, over to my new Facebook Page and keep up with all the latest developments by "liking" and making a comment.

Theresa also ensures me there will be games and prizes on this page.

Tell Pixar/Disney you want ANOTHER DRAGON MOVIE!!
