DRAGONS SAVE CHRISTMAS

A Christmas card for special people to read. You know it makes sense & on so many levels.

Part 1 (2013)

It was one of those days where the wind was whistling across the arid snowfield. The call of winter was building, but none of that mattered as the old man swung his huge feet out of his bed. He stood up and stretched, then with still slightly blurry eyes (too much eggnog last night) he reached out and picked up his trousers. He stepped lithely into them, for a man of his great age. Next he pulled on his jacket, adding a thick belt, and then bending and squinting, he looked down to find his black boots. His white beard, as always, stood out perfectly framing his smiling, happy face.

He was awake, alert and had things, far too many things, to do this morning. First though he had animals to pat and talk to as well as feed, or there would be complaints. The reindeer had arrived as they always did and in plenty of time for the big day. It was to them he strolled whistling a jolly tune, a smile fixed firmly on his face.

2016 Dragon Selfie Sign Up!

Hey Everyone!

Kitsooki has agreed to do the annual "Dragon Selfie" for 2016. *claps paws together*

You remember the one from 2015? *tilts head inquisitively*

Look at all those lovely dragons?

Miss getting in the 2015???

Want to be in the 2016 Dragon Selfie??? *bounces up and down in excitement*

Deadline is December 15, 2015. The Selfie will be issued to each of you by January 15th so you can post it for "Appreciate a Dragon Day" on January 16th, 2016.

Here's how to do it: *ticks items off fingers of one paw*

1. Contact my friend Theresa Snyder on Twitter by DM @TheresaSnyder19

2. Or contact @Kitsooki. She has the information pinned to the top of her profile.

3. You must send Kitsooki the following:
     A. Your name and your Twitter address/handle
(She got very confused last year when she tried to match dragon names to human emails.)
     B. $20 US Dollars for each dragon you want in the selfie
     C. Your reference sheet, so she knows what you look like

As she receives the information, she will sketch you in.

I am the reviewer and will give it the final OK since it is my Selfie *struts around with a big chest*

It is called a "Dragon Selfie" so if you don't mind being called a dragon you are in. No humans though. Just my furry, feathered and scaly friends.

Ohhhh this is going to be so much fun!!!! *grins toothily*

Dragons, Japanese Gardens and Taiko Drums

Today was a very good day!

Theresa took my books to the Skosh Japanese Festival in Gresham Oregon.

She made me look really good. *sticks out chest with pride*

We had DRAGONS Everywhere...
Coloring pages
Stickers
The 1st Ever Dragon Selfie!

She even brought my Selfie Cut-out and boy was it a hit!
Everyone wants a picture with a Dragon... Especially if he's as handsome as me!

We made some great friends.
Kate, the young girl from last week's show, who bought Vol 1 & 2, came by.
She bought Vol. 3 *chuckles* I think she is addicted to me.
(That's her with me above *grins*)

And Kate with my books. Pretty soon she will have the whole collection. *grins toothily*
She says, "YOUR MY FAVORITE AUTHOR!!!!!!!! 😁🐉"
(I think she means Theresa, but hey, they're my stories, right??)
*mantles wings and takes a bow*

There was Taiko Drumming, so I did a happy dance with Theresa.
We made the floor rock! Literally *grins*
We made some new friends, Justin and Stephanie.
They got matching Farloft tattoos.
Looking good my friends!

Hope you come to visit me next time I'm in town.
Life is good if you have a dragon in your corner
*ruffles wing in satisfaction*

International Vacation with Theresa

I may have told you about my friend Theresa. I dictate my Chronicles to her. She needed a break recently so we took a little vacation together. I thought you might like to see some of the postcards we sent home. I have really enjoyed taking Selfies since I did the one of my dragon friends and me at Christmas. So lean back and enjoy "Farloft & Theresa - International Vacation!"

Farloft Flying Dragon

BlueKite was playing around and decided she wanted to go flying with me.
So, she created this fun piece of artwork.

Just print it, cut it out, and put it together per the illustrations below.

How it flies depends on you.

Farloft - Flying Dragon

There is a front and back to both pieces.
One sheet for three different head expressions
One sheet for the body

My legs are cut separated from the wings so they will fold down.

Four places to tape: #1 Tape - Bottom of head to belly

#2 Tape - Top of head to top of body (line it up with the outline)

Fold head down & body up: #3 Tape - Tip of folded nose and over back on legs

Press the wings down to give them a curve as if I were in flight

Give my tail a bit of a bend up, by running you fingers along the paper

I might need a little more weight on my neck depending on what paper you are using.
Theresa needed one neck piece when she flew me in 20# copy paper and
two neck weights when she used heavier cover stock
If so, just cut out another neck piece and attach to the neck on the belly-side.

Consider the way you 'hold' me and 'launch' me.
Nose up... Nose down... Straight...

- Happy Flying -

Fur and Frost - A Dragon Love Story (in 14 Chapters)

Fur and Frost is the story of star-crossed lovers of the dragonic type.
Zodic of the Furry clan and Austere of the Frost clan fall in love.
Their clans live separately in the high mountains above the Kingdom of the Last Dragons.
Will the dragon wars of the past keep these two apart?

Read and see.

Appreciate a Dragon Day!

Today is Appreciate a Dragon Day and in celebration I am presenting to you the
FIRST EVER....
*sticks out chest with pride*

DRAGON SELFIE!

Me with some of my delightful dragon friends.
(and a lot of help from Kitsooki of Deviant Art)

For a dragon, nothing is really ever easy. We are big creatures. My arms are long, but not quite long enough, so Kitsooki got out her magic wand and her tablet of spells to create this work of art.

Happy Appreciate a Dragon Day!
(Have you hugged a dragon today?)

The First Sketch - Kitsooki thought this was it - Ha!
*grins toothily*

More of my friends show up - Kitsooki loses track of how many
Canvas has to be enlarged
*ruffles wings and wants to huggle everyone in pleasure*

Kitsooki starts the line art.
That handsome devil in the lower right is ME!

The finished project.
Kitsooki fell over and had to be revived with chocolate.
Thankfully I always have a stash.
*pulls all other dragons into a huge wing huggle*

My Dragon Friends:
Back Row: Alvaranox, Takumori Softwing, Storm Gryphon, Ran'Chr, Kitsooki
Middle Row: Talon Vurixen, Dofain, Yogoloth, Robert, Zudic
Front Row: Blue Hasia, Arkon, Tersethra, and Me!

Thanks everyone!
I have decided to make this an annual event.
A great way to celebrate APPRECIATE A DRAGON DAY!
