Bluekite, my artist friend, has been hard at it trying to catch me in my many moods for posterity.

I think she has done such a fine job that I am going to put them here for you all to see and download if you like.

In fact, I have a Coloring Contest. It will make the upcoming fall months of rain and school drudgery a bit more FUN!

2016 Dragon Selfie Sign Up!

Hey Everyone!

Kitsooki has agreed to do the annual "Dragon Selfie" for 2016. *claps paws together*

You remember the one from 2015? *tilts head inquisitively*

Look at all those lovely dragons?

Miss getting in the 2015??? 

Want to be in the 2016 Dragon Selfie??? *bounces up and down in excitement*

Deadline is December 15, 2015. The Selfie will be issued to each of you by January 15th so you can post it for "Appreciate a Dragon Day" on January 16th, 2016.

Here's how to do it: *ticks items off fingers of one paw*

1. Contact my friend Theresa Snyder on Twitter by DM @TheresaSnyder19

2. Or contact @Kitsooki. She has the information pinned to the top of her profile.

3. You must send Kitsooki the following:

     A. Your name and your Twitter address/handle 

     (She got very confused last year when she tried to match dragon names to human emails.)

     B. $20 US Dollars for each dragon you want in the selfie

     C. Your reference sheet, so she knows what you look like

As she receives the information, she will sketch you in. 

I am the reviewer and will give it the final OK since it is my Selfie *struts around with a big chest*

It is called a "Dragon Selfie" so if you don't mind being called a dragon you are in. No humans though. Just my furry, feathered and scaly friends.

Ohhhh this is going to be so much fun!!!! *grins toothily*

Farloft Flying Dragon

BlueKite was playing around and decided she wanted to go flying with me. 

So, she created this fun piece of artwork. 

Just print it, cut it out, and put it together per the illustrations below. 

How it flies depends on you. 

Farloft - Flying Dragon

There is a front and back to both pieces.

One sheet for three different head expressions
One sheet for the body

My legs are cut separated from the wings so they will fold down.

Four places to tape: #1 Tape - Bottom of head to belly

#2 Tape - Top of head to top of body (line it up with the outline)

Fold head down & body up: #3 Tape - Tip of folded nose and over back on legs

Press the wings down to give them a curve as if I were in flight

Give my tail a bit of a bend up, by running you fingers along the paper

I might need a little more weight on my neck depending on what paper you are using.

Theresa needed one neck piece when she flew me in 20# copy paper and
two neck weights when she used heavier cover stock

If so, just cut out another neck piece and attach to the neck on the belly-side.

Consider the way you 'hold' me and 'launch' me.

Appreciate a Dragon Day!

Today is Appreciate a Dragon Day and in celebration I am presenting to you the
FIRST EVER....

DRAGON SELFIE!

For a dragon, nothing is really ever easy. We are big creatures. My arms are long, but not quite long enough, so Kitsooki got out her magic wand and her tablet of spells to create this work of art.

My Reference Sheet

Last month when I tweeted, someone asked me how tall I was. *brow furrows in a frown* Well, I couldn't tell them. The last time I was measured it was by-hand and I was ten hands tall at the shoulder. I understand from my dear friend Theresa they no longer measure this way. *raises paw and inspects foot*

I also found out, when I said I didn't know, that the other dragons on Twitter had something called 'Reference Sheets.' They started sending me copies of their's. *shifts from paw to paw impatiently* They told how tall they were, what abilities they had, who their mate and children were. It was like reading a family history. It was amazing. *grins knowingly*

I asked Theresa to measure me. She took me out to the garden, grabbed her ladder and had at it. She enlisted BlueKite of Deviant Art to draw my page. I am so pleased to present it here. *puffs out chest with pride*

How Big is Farloft? by Theresa Snyder

October 31, 2014 - Halloween

Last night there was a discussion on Twitter as to Farloft's actual height. Farloft has not been measured in years, and then it was in his own Kingdom, so I do not know how accurate that would have been.

I got out my twenty-five foot tap measure once he got out of his soft nest this morning and started to measure.

He is 14' 3" from floor to the top of his head. His horns add another two feet. I wanted to measure his shoulder height, the length of his neck and his head, but he was fussy after his long chat yesterday and told me, "I am not being fitted for a Tux and top hat, please refrain."

I gave him a chocolate bar and he was in a better humor in no time.

I will post our picture from when I lived in his land. You can judge his size by me. I am 5' 8" in my boots.

I hope to have a detailed measurement sheet done of him sometime in the future to show.

James' 1st Fanart!

M A Gilchrist is a high concept artist and illustrator living in Southwest Florida. Over the years he has taken his creative gift to the food and wine industry, the cycling world, online retailers like Medieval Collectibles, and many more. Inspired by an early love of comic books and cartoons, M A Gilchrist stretches the boundaries of creativity and believability, while maintaining the integrity and sanctity of the objects of the art.

M A approached Theresa a while back to name and write the story for one of his dragons. She named the two-headed, pink dragon, Twin-id. You can check out this unique dragon, along with M A's other work on his site Deviant Dragons

You saw the bust, now let's look at the two full body portraits.

Kite started the background for my volcanic home first. Boy, those trees were hard work.
*huffs smoke*

She was really pleased to hear there was a meadow in front of my home.
(One of my favorite places to hunt)

The first concept of me flying.
My tail is a wee bit too long.
*rubs eyes with paw in disbelief*
 I could swat knights with that one.

Me with a splash of color and a shorter tail.

Kite put it all together and made it look stunning!

My Bust Portrait by BlueKite of Deviant Art

I am so thrilled with the three portraits BlueKite did of me. *ruffles wings and grins* 

Half the fun was watching them come together. 

*golden eyes whirl*

I wanted to share that excitement with you.

First the bust picture
It started as a sketch. 

The first sketch - a great concept! (I love blowing smoke rings)

The second one (note my horns and muzzle are a bit short)
I look a bit like one of Yogoloth's relatives ::grins::

Now my horns are lengthened, but my muzzle is still a bit stubby. Theresa likes my long tapered muzzle. *nudges Theresa in chair* Don't you? 

Theresa thought my muzzle was still too short and my eyes too orange. I have golden eyes *looks deep into Theresa's baby blues*
She also commented to Kite that the inside of my wings were darker and the tip of my soft nose was a wee bit lighter. (Picky...I know...But you have to love friends who make you look your best!)

Coloring updated in this photo along with muzzle length. Kite was so accommodating and sweet about Theresa's constant harping
